  4. Eaton Detroit True-Trac 8.8" 33 Spline Limited Slip Differential
    $699.99

    The Eaton Detroit Truetrac® limited-slip differential is the pioneer in helical gear based traction technology. Wheel spin out is limited by the differential, which employs pinion- and side-gear separation forces to automatically transfer torque to the wheel with the best traction. Mobility, stability and handling are enhanced, and drivers can be confident knowing that up to 3.5 times more torque is being transferred to the high-traction wheel. Operation of the Truetrac® is smooth and quiet, and the unit will engage without any driver knowledge or action required. It also has no wearable parts and requires no maintenance, meaning a lower overall cost for the customer.

    Truetrac® Operation

    The Truetrac® operates as a standard or open differential under normal driving conditions, allowing one wheel to spin faster or slower as necessary. When a wheel encounters a loss of traction, the gear separation forces take effect and transfers torque to the high-traction wheel. The helical-shaped pinion gears continue to mesh with the side gears with increasing force until wheel spin is slowed or completely stopped. When the vehicle exits the low traction situation, the separation forces cease and the differential resumes normal operation.

  5. Eaton Detroit Locker 8.8" 28 Spline Differential
    $996.99

    Detroit Locker 8.8" 28 Spline Differential

    * Fully Automatic Locking Action
    * No Individual Wheel Spin-out
    * Maintenance Free
    * Legendary Durability
    * Easy Installation
    * Proven Design One Year
    * Warranty

    New preload devices between the side gears provide for a quieter and smoother traction control.

    The legendary Detroit Locker began the revolution in performance differentials, and yet it still leads the industry. The Detroit Locker is still the most durable and reliable locking differential available. Detroit Locker maximizes traction by delivering 100% of the torque and power to both drive wheels. It is engineered to keep both wheels in a constant drive mode, and has the ability to automatically allow wheel speed differentiation when required.

    No other performance differential has the reputation for durability of the Detroit Locker,delivering traction in mud, snow, dirt and over rocks and ruts.

    Proven every week by demanding professionals in NASCAR, IHRA, NHRA, ARCA, CORR and other performance enthusiasts. The most rugged positive locking differential, and most widely available for axles from 3,000 to 70,000 lb. capacity.

    For severe operational conditions. Driver may hear and feel "backlash" going from drive-to-coast and coast-to-drive, as reversing torque flow resets the components.

  9. Strange N1865 Ford Detroit Locker 8.8 Differential (31 Spline)
    $875.00

    A Locker is a mechanical unit that is sensitive to torque application. It will lock (drive both wheels) under acceleration, or unlock (allow the axles to turn at different rates) during coast or deceleration. A very strong piece, since it doesn’t use any clutches or cones that can wear out, which made it a good choice for it’s original truck application. Since driver input mainly determines whether the unit is locked or not, it can be very frustrating to a driver who is unfamiliar with the operation of the differential. Hard acceleration during a turn will cause the unit to lock and skid the tire. Between lock and unlock, a distinctive “clunk” can be heard. During a properly executed turn, clicking will be audible since locking teeth are allowed to jump each other inside the unit. Learn More
