The 2007-2009 Shelby GT500 revitalized the Ford muscle car market, incorporating the fresh new look of the S197 with a supercharged 5.4L 4V to reach a potent 500hp. Easily noticed by its aggressive front grill, vented hood and rear spoiler, the 2007 Shelby GT500 was, and still is, quite impressive.
But this Shelby is more than a smokin' hot face. It's a snap to upgrade with a high-performance intake, custom tune and smaller supercharger pulley — that combo alone will easily gain you an additional 135rwhp. Suspension mods such as upper and lower control arms, K-member, A-arms and adjustable struts and shocks will help put the power to the pavement. You can even take it a step further by adding a Whipple Supercharger kit to increase power anywhere from 650-800+rwhp.
Remember, the more power you add, the more support you'll need. If you go the supercharger route, be sure to add a single piece aluminum driveshaft and a performance shifter to your ride. Check out what we did with our very own 2008 Shelby GT500!
