Note: Currently, we are experiencing 1-2 week lead times with MGW Shifters.

What you’re looking at is very much an evolution of MGW’s Gen 2 Shifter for the TR-6060 found in the S-197 GT500 Mustangs. It features the same rigid linkage shaft and large bronze support bearing as the 6060 shifter. This is made possible by a 5 degree down-angle machined into the shifter base, which allows the shift linkage to have a nearly straight shot into the trans. The end result is the rifle-bolt-like action that we’ve come to expect from MGW and a roughly 20% reduction in throw. That’s up from the ~15% shorter throw of MGW’s Gen 1 Shifter for the TR-3160 This is also all done without any springs added to the shifter. The Tremec’s internal springs are more than sufficient for the job.

  • Fits 2015 - 2020 Shelby GT350 equipped with the TR3160 transmission. Will require use of OEM adapter to use stock knob, or you can get an aftermarket knob from MGW.

    Easy rubber boot workaround
Installation was smooth. I must say the hardest part was getting that damn rubber boot on. I figured out an easy way though. Start with the side closest to the driver as the video says. Stick fingers down in the boot to make sure corners are in the grove of the shifter. Now go to the passenger side seat. Once you got the driver's side started use a long flathead screwdriver down the side close to the passenger seat. Now place flathead tip on grove on the shifter and pull back. Now stick figures down in the boot and force corners down. Run your fingers around to make sure the boot is seated properly before taking the screwdriver out. You would think MGW would've included a workaround for that part of the installation. Here it is! Review by Mark / (Posted on 8/8/2022)
