This is the Level 2 600HP Axle Bar/Outer CV Upgrade for the 2003-2004 Mustang Cobra. The outer CV is a proprietary material with a unique Carbo Ausse Tempering that gives it a very hard shell and it fits the stock wheel hub. These axles feature our chromoly center bars and will re-use the inner CV from your factory axle. Designed to handle 600HP at the wheels, it is one solid axle set. We include the boots, clamps and grease so you can install the inner CV's from your stock axles on the Level 2 axles. Rated to 600HP with a 1-year warranty. Price listed is for both axles.

Almost 3 years ago now Thomas Hendrix from Hendrix Engineering had asked us to make a set of axle with different diameters. the reason for his was to help with Wheel hop on certain cars. now this technology is not something new and it was actually created by both GM and Chrysler on SRT8's and Corvettes. Like those cars it works quite well. The way the system works is this, when the torque is applied to the rear wheels thru the drive train. the axles torsionally twist at a certain rate, what happens on cars with certain types of suspension is as they both wrap up at the same time they also release at the same time and cause the wheels to "HOP" with different diameter bars this "wrap up and release" happens at different times helping the wheels to spin. now on a street/strip cars this is a great thing but keep in ming like the factory ones it will have it limitations. What were actually doing here is making one axle stronger and one weaker (one big and one little says it all) so if your building a car that has up to 900Hp and want to eliminated the dreaded "HOP" we have designed this set of axles for you.
What we have done different is this, our skinny bar is smaller in diameter than a standard 28 spline a stock 108mm CV would use and its made from 300m, We have rolled the spline onto a ground piece of the material that during the rolling process raises the spline above the center diameter of the bar (this is done with all rolled splines DSS uses), what this also does is allow us to make the axle with out any internal snap ring (no internal groove for a square edged stress riser during torsional shock loading) We then make the Big bar using our bigger 30 spline bar but its made from 4340 to balance out the strength (300m is only about 7-10% stronger but its ability to twist and come back it much greater) this like the other bar has the rolled splines so at the edge where the race will meet the spline (area of most failures) its much stronger due to the re-forming of the same material instead of taking away grain structure/material like a cut spine. so if your running a car up to or around the 900hp range (keep in mind auto and 6 speed cars will have different effects on Hp ratings) and want to reduce some of the wheel hop this just might be the axle set for you.
Please keep in mind a high performance race car will need the axles to be the same diameter for obvious reasons stated above. choose your parts wisely.....

This is long anticipated Level 5 system with our all new Chromoly ball & cage inner c.v.
The system was developed not because the stock inner C.V. was not strong enough (they are plenty strong) it was because the stock inner C.V. is a forging and the tripod was not all that close in tolerance, some (not all) cars get a clunk from 1st to 2nd or from 1st to reverse due to the loose tolerance. This all new inner C.V. is a 6 ball and cage design that is precision machined to have no play. The system is our tried and true level 5 with larger outer, custom hub and 300M torsional center bars. This is a complete system in stock and ready to ship.

Description:This is the all new Pro-Level system for the Cobra platform. This system has been developed to handle over 1000hp at the rear wheel. The new system uses custom made Porsche style cross groove c.v.'s with stronger internal cage and races. We have also made it with a larger center bar (1-3/8" up from the 1-1/8" on the Level 5). It also has a custom outer c.v. mount that is splined down the entire length of the inside of the hub giving the Wheel bearing more support on the races.
