After quite a wait, we finally took delivery of our Bronco Raptor. Once again, another horse in the stable that is not a Mustang.
The Beginning
Having had such an incredible response to our First Edition Bronco, we were dying to get our hands on a Bronco Raptor. Our friend Phillip Weikert at Weikert Ford, along with Ford Performance, got us hooked up. In late October 2022, the BRaptor landed.
We also brought Krista Pickens, aka Buckle Up Buttercup, along for the journey, which produced some great content, some good memories, and a Raptor absolutely coated in mud, dirt and cow manure.
The First Mods
First stop was UPR Products, where we dropped the BRaptor off to help them develop catch can systems for the platform. They did not just develop their single and dual valve catch cans on our truck, they also used it to confirm the rest of their lineup fit and worked properly, including their blow-off valve adapter and bullet antenna.
No surprises there, since these are some of our favourite go-to mods for the EcoBoost platform. The inner child in all of us cannot get enough of turbo noises, and thanks to UPR you get a lot more whoosh from a simple, cheap, quick mod, plus real engine protection and longevity from the catch cans.

New Shoes
Thanks to our friends over at Vossen Wheels, we got the Bronco Raptor sitting right. We went with their HF6-5 in 20x10, -18 offset, finished in Satin Black, wrapped in Nitto Ridge Grapplers in 37x13.50x20.
No rubbing, no hitting. They fit perfectly and give the truck a more aggressive edge. We love the look, and even in the muddiest pit this has proven to be a well-performing combination on both street and trail.

Tuning & Testing
After the results we got on our First Edition Bronco, you know we had to do the same here. We tested multiple tuning methods and a stack of performance add-ons on this truck and recorded the results rather than just telling you it felt faster.
Both tuning solutions got their own full write-up, with install guides, reviews and numbers:

Off-Road Adventures
Once again, we used the Bronco Raptor for its actual intended purpose. Off-roading.
We took a ride up to Ol' Florida Off Road Park in Tavares, Florida and met up with Krista, aka @BuckleUpButtercupTV, to find out what these Broncos could and could not do. Huge thanks to Krista, Jim, Todd and the rest of the Bronco crew we spent the day with.
What's Next
Stay tuned, because we have big plans for this truck. Larger turbos, fueling upgrades, and a good deal more.
Frequently Asked Questions
What wheels and tires are on the Lethal Bronco Raptor?
Vossen HF6-5 in 20x10 with a -18 offset, finished in Satin Black, wrapped in Nitto Ridge Grapplers in 37x13.50x20.
Do 37s on a -18 offset rub on a Bronco Raptor?
Not on ours. No rubbing and no hitting, on the street or off-road.
Which catch can should I get for a Bronco Raptor?
UPR makes both a single valve and a dual valve with clean side separator, and both were developed on this truck. The dual valve with the separator is the more complete solution.
Why does a Bronco Raptor need a catch can?
The 3.0L EcoBoost is direct injected, so there is no fuel washing the intake valves to keep them clean. Blow-by oil vapour routed back through the intake builds up. A catch can removes it first.
JB4 or a Whipple calibration?
They answer different questions. The JB4 is a piggyback module you can fit yourself and remove without a trace. The Whipple calibration is a flashed tune paired with a cooling upgrade. We tested both and wrote each up separately, both linked above.
What is planned next for this truck?
Larger turbos and fueling upgrades, among other things.
