LED bulbs may cause some newer vehicles to indicate a bulb is burnt out (because of their low power consumption). Some cars indicate this by increasing the flash rate of the turn signals, some turn on a bad bulb indicator. This can be remedied with our Load Resistors wired across the turn signal bulbs to simulate a filament bulb load.
This 6 Ohm, 50 Watt resistors can be connected across the turn signal bulbs to simulate the load of a regular filament bulb (2 Amp load). This will solve LED related turn signal problems such as hyper flashing or burnt out bulb indications. This LED Load Resistor can be use with most signal or brake light which uses SINGLE or DUAL FILAMENT LED light bulbs, like the 7443, 1157, 3157, 4157, 1156, 7440, 3156 etc.
CONNECTION INSTRUCTIONS:
Using included splice taps, connect one wire to ground and the other wire to the turn/brake hot wire. Splice taps allow for installation without cutting your turn signal wires.
Automotive LED Light Bulb Load Resistor Features:
-- Solve LED related turn signal problems such as hyper flashing or burnt out bulb indications.
-- Compact design for easy installation.
-- 6 Ohm 50 Watt resistors can be use will most import and domestic vehicles.

These bulbs are sold individually which means only 1 bulb comes in each package. This means if you need a total of 4 bulbs, you must enter a qty of 4 before clicking the "add to cart" button.
Trunk lights are used in the trunk or cargo area to illuminate the space at night. From the factory, the bulbs are incandescent, lighting up in a yellowish color. By changing the factory bulb to an LED, you can illuminate the area with a much brighter light, and add a pure white, luxury look. The installation is 100% plug-and-play, just replace your factory bulb.
BULB DESIGNPLEASE NOTE: SMD12 Board is an LED board, which may mount to the exterior of your trunk light housing. FlexLight is an LED strip, which plugs into your factory trunk light socket, and mounts directly into your trunk area using included adhesive strips or velcro. If you would like a direct replacement bulb, we recommend SMF2 or SMF6. We offer SMD12 Board and FlexLight for those who want to maximize brightness.
Included in your order is ONE BULB.
COLORThese LEDs are available in crisp, bright colors including White, Warm White, Blue, Red, Amber, and Green. We strongly recommend white or warm white for the best visibility.
BRIGHTNESSDiode Dynamics offers several brightness options so you can choose what fits you best. These options are listed by the design and the lumen output of each bulb:
SMF2: Slightly lower brightness than OEM bulbs, but still provides the crisp, modern color of LED.Lumens: BUYER BEWARE! Most sellers just provide "calculated" lumen numbers, based on the maximum potential brightness of the LED chips on the bulb. For example, if a bulb has five 10-lumen chips, they will rate it at 50 lumens. However, this is not accurate, as the design of an LED bulb does not get rid of heat fast enough to run the LEDs at maximum.
These "calculated" lumen ratings are much, much higher than the true, measured light output, so it will look like competitors' bulbs are brighter than ours. This is because Diode Dynamics does not provide inflated "calculated" numbers; we believe it is misleading. We test the actual brightness of the bulbs in our lab, to provide real lumen output measurements. Our measurements are accurate, but they are usually much lower than the misleading "calculated" figures. Please click here to learn more about LED brightness measurement.
QUALITYLED Components. Diode Dynamics uses only the highest quality LED chips in the production of its bulbs. This means we use only brand-name suppliers such as Epistar, Cree, Osram, and Samsung.
While Diode Dynamics bulbs may look the same as others on the market, most copycat bulbs use economy-grade LED chips in order to reduce costs. This greatly reduces the reliability and overall brightness of the bulb when you compare it to Diode Dynamics.
Construction. Although LED technology allows for extremely long bulb life, the market is flooded with cheap LED bulbs that fail prematurely due to inferior construction. The worst enemy of LEDs is excessive heat, and when bulbs are not designed properly, they do not disperse heat as well, leading to premature failure.
Off-brand, cheap bulbs exhibit poor solder uniformity, high levels of flux in the solder, uneven chip placement, low-gauge terminal wires, poor assembly, and bulbs held together with inferior adhesives. At best, solder joints will crack and fail on low-quality LEDs after a few weeks of use. In the worst case, these bulbs can damage housings as the extra flux and adhesive evaporates and creates a residue on the lens of the housing.
Diode Dynamics bulbs are produced with modern, computerized equipment, and only the best materials, to ensure complete uniformity, high quality, and long bulb life.
All Diode Dynamics products come with a 30-day satisfaction guarantee and a 3-year limited replacement warranty. For more information, please view the Warranty Information page.
Learn MoreSidemarker, corner, or indicator LED bulbs will add a nice touch to the exterior of the vehicle, by providing a true red or amber color rather than a washed-out color created by factory incandescent bulbs. The yellowish color of the factory bulb shines through the red or amber lens to create a light yellow or orangish color. By using true red and amber LEDs, you will achieve a crisp, vibrant color. The installation is 100% plug-and-play, just replace your factory bulb!
BULB DESIGNFitment. All bulbs use a quality inject-molded 194/168 T10 terminal, with a full-size base connector and proper pin alignment, designed for exact replacement of your factory 194 bulb. Just remove the old bulb, and plug in the new LED.
Included in your order is TWO BULBS.
Learn MoreFUNCTION: Map lights, or the pair of lights above your front seats, use incandescent bulbs from the factory, giving them a yellowish color. By replacing these factory bulbs with LEDs, you can add a luxurious and modern look to your vehicle, with a cool white color, just like the map lights on newer luxury vehicles. You can also increase the brightness with SMD5 or SMD9 bulbs, to improve the performance of your map lights. The installation is 100% plug-and-play, just replace your factory bulb!

Learn MoreFrom the factory, rear turn signal bulbs are powered by standard incandescent lights that light up white in color, and cast light through your red or amber tail light lens. This results in a washed-out color. Newer luxury vehicles are using LEDs for turn signals, because LEDs offer a crisp, instant on/off function, increased brightness, and true, vibrant color. By replacing the bulbs in your vehicle, you can achieve this modern look! The installation is 100% plug-and-play, just replace your factory bulb. The bulb may blink faster since it uses less power, and your vehicle thinks the bulb is out- to fix this, please see "hyperblinking" section below.
HYPERBLINKINGThe turn signals on most vehicles will begin to blink fast (hyperblink) when LED bulbs are installed. This is because the new LEDs will use less power than the original bulbs, so your vehicle thinks that the bulb is out and warns you by hyperblinking. This phenomenon will be the same for every LED bulb on the market- there is no such thing as a "no hyperblink" LED bulb, even though some companies advertise them as such.
Resistor Kit: By adding a resistor to the bulb's circuit, you can mimic the power consumption of the original bulb, and return the vehicle to normal turn signal speed. Our resistors are 50w, 6 ohm, and come with extra-long connection wires for easy install. If you have both front and rear LED turn signals, you should purchase one set for each pair, to create enough resistance for the whole turn signal circuit. The installation itself takes only 10-15 minutes, and involves making two simple connections. Everything you need is included in the kit. Please see the installation video below.
Flasher Replacement: You may have heard of replacing a "flasher relay" instead of using resistors. Indeed, some vehicles have a replaceable flasher relay, and it is possible to replace it with one designed for LED use, to eliminate hyperblinking. However, this is only true for some vehicles. We do not believe one is available for your vehicle, because your flasher is built-in to the vehicle's computer. You will need to use resistors for your vehicle.
Learn MoreWhen you replace incandescent turn signal bulbs with LEDs in most vehicles, the vehicle will start hyper-blinking because the LED uses much less power, and the vehicle thinks the bulb is out. You can use these resistors to fix the problem of hyperblinking when you convert to LED bulbs.
Diode Dynamics resistors have extra-long 8" leads for easier installation, and have a rating of 50w, 6ohm. This is usually enough to compensate for one bulb. If you are installing four LED turn signals (front and rear) we recommend four total resistors.
