With any mustang it's always important to make sure the components you have on the car are suited to handle the power you plan to make as well as accommodate the type of driving you plan on doing. Whether it's street driven, taken down the drag strip or see's the roadcourse things such as gears, differentials, driveshafts and axle / halfshafts do come into play. As we've seen with the previous 2015-2017 mustang the stock halfshafts can only handle a certain level of abuse before they snap. It's the same for the 2018 mustang gt. The fix for this is an aftermarket set of axles from the Driveshaft Shop, GForce Engineering and Ford Performance. Lethal Performance has used the DSS halfshafts on several of our S550's with excellent results including our blistering 9.7@150mph run on our Whipple powered 2015 GT.
