Adding an aftermarket shifter to your mustang will greatly improve both the feel and ability to shift your MT-82 transmission easier. From the factory the MT-82 shifter feels a little sloppy and has a long throw. At high rpm's its also harder to shift without missing gears. The solution is an MGW or Barton Industries shifter. Both shifters offer shorter than stock throws and also make shifting much more precise preventing you from missing gears. We've run both of these shifters in our shop cars with great success even running a 9.7@150mph in our 2015 GT with the stock MT-82 transmission. MGW and Barton shifters are offered in a few different configurations as well as have different handle and knob options.
