NOTE: 2011-2012 Mustang GT and GT500's require (4) bulbs total. So you must add (2) packs of these bulbs to your cart in order to have enough bulbs to complete the install.

Recon LED Bulb Resistor Kit (1 Piece)

We have found that most 2011 model years will require a resistor to be installed in order for the LED reverse light to function properly. This is due to the newer computers which run the vehicles lightning system. The LED's require lower voltage to run them which the computer thinks is a blown bulb. The resistor will in turn stimulate a load signal similar to that of a standard filament bulb.



LED bulbs may cause some newer vehicles to indicate a bulb is burnt out (because of their low power consumption). Some cars indicate this by increasing the flash rate of the turn signals, some turn on a bad bulb indicator. This can be remedied with our Load Resistors wired across the turn signal bulbs to simulate a filament bulb load.

This 6 Ohm, 50 Watt resistors can be connected across the turn signal bulbs to simulate the load of a regular filament bulb (2 Amp load). This will solve LED related turn signal problems such as hyper flashing or burnt out bulb indications. When you replace incandescent turn signal bulbs with LEDs in most vehicles, the vehicle will start hyper-blinking because the LED uses much less power, and the vehicle thinks the bulb is out. You can use these resistors to fix the problem of hyperblinking when you convert to LED bulbs.

Diode Dynamics resistors have extra-long 8" leads for easier installation, and have a rating of 50w, 6ohm. This is usually enough to compensate for one bulb. If you are installing four LED turn signals (front and rear) we recommend four total resistors.
