  1. CHEVROLET 2012+ CAMARO ZL1 1400HP Level 5 Direct Bolt-In Axles *Also fits SS with ZL1 Differential Conversion* - RA5457X5-RA5456X5
    $2,149.96

Quick Overview 1. Full 30 spline certified 300M center bars (not just 28 spline like a factory 108mm CV would use) 30 spline like the Viper T56 and any upgraded T56 its the reason we do too. If the cages are stronger the bars need to be also (same center bar used in Lingenfelter's 6-speed car) 2. Certified 4340AQ cages REM polished with a re-designed radius on the cage window, cages are full 4340 not the standard material that have been carbonized and made brittle. 3. Our Center race in the CV is certified 300M, this should need no explanation, no one else uses this and we can prove it..... 4. CNC Rolled splines. Most know a forging is always stronger than billet. Here at The Driveshaft shop we roll our axle splines, this is by far the strongest way to form a spline and is far superior to "old technology" cut splines. by rolling a spline you are taking the material that was already there and re-forming it (forging). by cutting a spline you are removing material and the inherent grain structure that its made with. Don't take our word for this, please search the internet and see what spline is better. If your looking for the strongest axle you have arrived at the right place. Don't take our word for this, please search the internet and see what spline is better. If your looking for the strongest axle you have arrived at the right place. It should come as no surprise that we here at DSS never stop thinking about new ways to make an axle. We try to not only make it better but less expensive at the same time. For several months we have been working with some of the top tuning company's around fine tuning and understanding what our customers needs were. What issues the car had after it came out, like manufacturers making lowering parts and other goodies and with these changes the we decided to re-design the axles. Due to a new relationship with a steel mill and the ability for us to buy direct, we not only have been able to reduce our cost on many new products but we are also able to announce the release of some new aircraft quality materials that rival top rated product on the market today. We are proud to introduce the 1400HP axles for the 2010 Camaro. We were going to put a 1800HP rating but knowing the differential will break at about 1000HP, we feel the 1400HP number was impressive enough. We recently were made aware that our (and other manufacturers) 108mm outer c.v. and bolt system may have a clearance issue with a lowered car squatting real hard at the track. We took our test mule through complete suspension travel, and the bolts holding the outer CV on at the wheel end on a 108mm CV (any thing larger or longer than our 108mm CV may be a catastrophic event bottoming the suspension out on the upper control arm)well it touched the upper control arm, not much and with a little grinding would clear it,but being its a brand new car and "no one wants to grind" so we have designed a new 1-piece outer CV for the application that is not only stronger but more cost effective to manufacture. A word about the axle bars: We have been doing more testing with the new proprietary material we have been getting from the mill which is a 300M that has been modified to be even stronger than current 300M and is certified to be the strongest material. We have done extensive destructive testing and found out a few things, first being that in a high HP car having one axle thicker and one thinner only causes one axle to be weaker (up to 20%). This new axle design is made for the discerning car builder that has dealt with wheel hop issues in a proper manner and not trying to rely on axles to stop it. By making axles different diameters in this upper league or HP ratings you are asking for one "Weak Axle" and one "Strong Axle". We have decided to make this system with two "strong axles", this along with our own “custom” 108mm CV with a 30 spline race that’s the same size as a Viper T56 output (up from anyone else smaller 28 spline stock design) makes this absolutely the strongest axle for the car to date. You might also see the new custom boot we had made for the outer, any one with a lowered car will appreciate the fact the this boot will never hit the upper control arm like others on the market today. If you have read about our earlier design 1000HP axles having breakage issues, its due to the fact that we just should not have made one axle big and one small (current X4 axles are a new design). Highly modified cars like Lingenfelter's 6-speed is a true testament to high HP cars needing both axles the same diameter. PART # RA5457X5 and RA5456X5Learn More
  2. DSS CHEVROLET 2016 CAMARO V8 1400HP Level 5 Bolt-In Axles (Set) - RA5430X5-RA5431X5
    $2,230.52

So the 2016+ Camaro is out and like any of the newer platforms by GM we have seen lately the Drive train is nice, The axle is more like the ZL1 axles but has a interesting twist, the inner is not able to be un-bolted (more on this later) we all know the ZL1 axles were stronger unlike the 2010-2015 SS cars, they seem to have had issues in the 600-700Hp range. Like any axle we look to make here at DSS we always open the axle up for the critical dimensions but also to see what was done by GM to make this new 2016 better than the 5th gen style its replacing. they do not disappoint (maybe us a little but not you if you or are getting one) Guessing what HP ? this sort of thing is always hard but like all OE's they have come to realize the axles have to be better and this one is. We found the bars and internals are closer to the C7 corvette or maybe the CTS-v axles in the fact that not only the internal splines are much larger but the CV parts themselves are, CV's are done in series and this one is the same as the larger axles found on vipers, Lamborghini's and a few other high end cars. The axles are also done with the "anti-wheel hop" that in a stock application "kind" of helps hop but in high Hp applications causes a unbalanced strength and will basically have one axle stronger then the other. Product Description So the 2016 Camaro is out and like any of the newer platforms by GM we have seen lately the Drive train is nice, The axle is more like the ZL1 axles but has a interesting twist, the inner is not able to be un-bolted (more on this later) we all know the ZL1 axles were stronger unlike the 2010-2015 SS cars, they seem to have had issues in the 600-700Hp range. The axles are also done with the "anti-wheel hop" that in a stock application "kind" of helps hop but in high Hp applications causes a unbalanced strength and will basically have one axle stronger then the other. So, what DSS has decided to do for this is start with out with our exclusive "Fixed" outer CV design (just like factory, non-plunging) Back with the 5th gen car we realized with having a plunging CV on both ends there was an angle limit that can be run before the axle bar became unstable and moved back and forth causing undue wear and sometimes noise, We will be using this fixed outer so as the cars are lowered and the angle becomes greater this will not be a issue. The Fixed outer is a Billet Chromoly housing and full billet Chromoly internals, Same parts used on Carlyle Racing's corvette, American Racing Headers Camaro and many more record winning cars with out issue. The Axle bars will be larger, the one on this axle is a bit bigger then the 5th gen at 1.170 and im going to make a guess the axle may hold as much as 900hp ? The DSS axle will have the 300m Bars with rolled splines and ground centers that will allow the bars to torsionally twist but not break, we WILL NOT be making them in the Anti-Wheel hop style for this reason, with all the years and experience we have behind us we have come to realize the axles need to be the same diameter in high HP cars to ensure they are the same strength, wheel Hop should be addresses at the source (bushings, mounts ect) and when this is done correctly you will need axles that will be of equal strength. Being this axle from the Factory will more then likely handle so much power it would un-wise to make the axles any other way in our opinion. Bolt on inner CV-- This is the 1st Camaro to come with a Bolt on inner CV and after looking at the stub its our opinion that the spline diameter of 1.375 and the material its made from that the spline is going to stronger then the diff (but time will tell) This again is a good thing for you the consumer as you do not need to buy extra parts, the inner CV is a GKN 116mm version and DSS stocks this so the axle will be sold with out the stub and the costs that are associated with it. If in the future this becomes and ills we can always make it but again judging from a long history of making parts more then likely will not ever be needed as the Diff will more then likely be an issue before. So there you have it, a completely new Axle from DSS for the 6th Gen Camaro, Driveshafts are being made now and will be available like this on the site in a few days. All parts are made and ready to be assembled for you if you have been able to get past the barrier we believe the stock axle will hold. $2,199.00

GForce Engineering OUTLAW Axles are a direct replacement for factory half-shafts and are designed for cars making big power and/or with serious demands on their driveline.

The all new Outlaw axles have been elevated from their previous design with an upgraded premium CV. The Outlaw CV maintains a 108mm design but features an upgraded alloy on the billet machined internals. Each CV also receive an isotropic surface finish for a mirror like polish. The surface finishing provides smoother operation for the CV joint which dramatically reduces heat and premature wear and aides in grease migration. In addition, each Outlaw axle uses premium fasteners for the industry’s strongest CV axle bolts.

Powder Coated Axles For Corrosion Protection
Black e-coat finish on inner and outer stubs to protect against harsh conditions without impeding spline engagement

OEM factory bushings in all of the independent rear suspension applications that we have worked with are great for luxury, but have proven to be a burden for performance. We strongly advise anyone who is looking to increase the performance of their vehicle by adding GForce Performance Engineering products, to also consider upgrading the items that support our products, such as bushings or lockout kits for both center section and subframe cradle. These items will help control pinion movement, and also help keep the rear of the car planted to help avoid "wheel hop", which can damage just about any driveline component. Damage related to inadequate bushings and exess driveshaft movement WILL NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY.

Note: Differential and Cradle bushings are recommended as when these cars start making real torque, the pinion is rising to the point where it puts the u-joints at an unfavorable angle.

Note: These axles may not work with all aftermarket coilovers, but you can upgrade to low profile boots for the best chance of avoiding these issues.
