Maximum Motorsports rear lower control arms for the 1979-1998 Mustang improve traction and handling by reducing the unwanted deflection allowed by the stock soft rubber bushings and flexible stamped steel control arms. Choose the Sport, Heavy-Duty or Extreme-Duty series, with the spring perch and/or swaybar mount deleted when you don't need them.
Series
-
Sport: 3-piece urethane bushings at both ends at a budget price; suited for up to about 400 rwhp.
-
Heavy-Duty: 3-piece urethane bushing at the chassis end and a spherical bearing at the axle end.
-
Extreme-Duty: spherical bearings at both ends; robust enough for hard launches with up to 1,000 HP.
-
Extreme-Duty Adjustable: adds an adjustable-height spring perch to tune ride height and anti-squat (range 0.9" down to 2" up at the fender).
Benefits
- Improved traction and reduced wheel hop, usually enough to allow removal of quad shocks.
- More precise control of the rear axle for better handling, stability and predictability.
- Greatly reduced risk of torque-box damage because the design allows proper articulation.
- Strong, stiff 2" diameter round steel tube construction with CNC-machined receiver tubes.
- Durable black powder coat finish, made by MM in the USA.
Fits 1979-1998 Mustang with a solid rear axle (and Fox-chassis Fairmont, Zephyr, LTD and Marquis). Does NOT fit 1999-2004 Mustangs, Fox Thunderbirds, or Lincoln Mark VII with air suspension.
