The 8-second Dark Horse
A 2024 S650 on the Lethal Performance Edition Gen 6 3.0L Whipple, built to hunt records on both 93 octane and E85. Factory headers, full interior, 8.87 at 154.
From stock to 8s
In near-stock trim, just the blower, axles, tires, and a catback, it ran 9.76 at 138. We added VP Octanium to the 93 and it put down 791 rwhp and 619 rwtq on the dyno. With a pulley change, a 20 percent lower balancer, and an E30 blend, the best pass dropped to 9.28 at 149. Then we went to E85: a 3.50-inch pulley, 1300lb injectors, and a Shoemaker Performance tune for 1,049.5 rwhp and 751.4 rwtq at 20.7 psi, still on factory headers. A smaller 3.25-inch pulley put it deep into the 8s at 8.87 at 154. No gimmicks, no fluff. A fully streetable build that throws down harder than anything in its class.
8.87 at 154
The 8-second club, on a street car. We dropped to a 3.25-inch pulley on E85, left the factory headers and full interior in place, and ran 8.87 at 154 mph. Consistent 1.3-second 60-foot times off the factory suspension made it repeatable, not a one-off. This is what the Lethal Performance Edition Whipple kit does when everything is dialed in.
Forced Induction
Lethal Performance Edition Gen 6 3.0L Whipple with the latest high-efficiency rotor pack, a 150mm open-air intake, and a carbon fiber cold-air tube. GripTec 3.625-inch pulley (3.50 for the E85 dyno pulls, 3.25 for the 8-second pass) and Whipple's 10-rib belt for grip at 20.7 psi.
Fuel System
KPM 1500hp return-style fuel system for steady fuel pressure across the boost range, feeding 1300lb Injector Dynamics injectors. E85 calibration by Shoemaker Performance.
Driveline
RSA-built 10R80 automatic with a Circle D torque converter, built to survive aggressive dragstrip launches. Driveshaft Shop Nemesis axles and a QA1 carbon fiber driveshaft put the power down.

Watch the Build
Watch the whole thing come together. The playlist runs through the Whipple install, the KPM fuel system, and every dyno pull, then follows the chase from the 9s into the 8s. No staged drama, just the work, the numbers, and the passes that ended at 8.87 at 154.
The Lethal Performance Edition Gen 6 3.0L Whipple kit, with the latest high-efficiency rotor pack, a 150mm open-air intake, and a carbon fiber cold-air tube. It runs a GripTec 3.625-inch pulley and Whipple's 10-rib belt system for maximum grip at high boost.
A KPM 1500hp return-style fuel system, which holds consistent fuel pressure across the boost range. That stability is what makes higher output on an E30 or E85 blend safe to run.
On 93 with VP Octanium it made 791 rwhp and 619 rwtq. With a pulley change, a 20 percent lower balancer, and an E30 blend, the best pass was 9.28 at 149 (no dyno on that setup, but estimated well into the 850+ rwhp range).
1300lb Injector Dynamics injectors, a larger fuel supply courtesy of the KPM fuel system, a smaller 3.50-inch GripTec upper pulley, and a custom E85 tune from Shoemaker Performance. The setup makes 20.7 psi peak boost and still runs factory headers, so there is more left in it.
No. It runs an RSA-built 10R80 automatic with a Circle D torque converter, built to handle the power and torque under hard launches.
No, it still runs factory suspension. Even so, it records consistent 1.3-second 60-foot times thanks to the drivetrain, tire choice, and launch-control tuning.
Driveshaft Shop Nemesis axles and a QA1 carbon fiber driveshaft.
