A Carbonized Grey 5.0L That Does It All
A 2022 F-150 4x4 built to do it all. Whipple supercharged, Kooks and Corsa exhaust, IHC suspension, full Morimoto lighting, and two wheel setups: Weld drag wheels and 22-inch Forgestars.
About the Build
This Carbonized Grey 2022 F-150 4x4 started as a clean 5.0L on the 10-speed 10R80 and left our shop as a fully built statement truck. We topped the Coyote with a Whipple Gen 5 3.0L supercharger, the latest Whipple available at the time, ran Kooks longtubes into a Corsa side-exit, set the stance with IHC suspension and a Kelltrac coilover system, and finished it with paint-matched styling, RK Sport and Cervini's carbon, and a full Morimoto lighting package. Two wheel setups make it dual-purpose: Weld drag wheels on Mickey Thompson ET Street Rs, and 22-inch Forgestars for the street. Then we gave it away to one Lethal Performance customer.

We documented this F-150 coming together, from the Whipple install to the final wheel fitment. Watch how a clean 5.0L 4x4 became a supercharged, dual-purpose statement truck.
Twin-screw makes boost and torque from just off idle, which is exactly what a heavy 4x4 wants. You feel it everywhere in the rev range, not just up top, so it pulls harder from a roll and around town, not only at wide-open throttle.
A blower can only make power with air it can move. The Kooks 1 7/8-inch longtubes and green catted Y-pipe open up the exhaust side so the Whipple is not fighting restriction on the way out.
It traps oil mist from the PCV system before it reaches the intake and the supercharger, keeping the intake tract clean over time. On a boosted engine, that buildup matters more, so it is cheap insurance.
The Avid is the handheld device that loads the calibration onto the truck. Shoemaker Performance wrote the custom tune that makes the Whipple, headers, and exhaust work together safely. (Reinforces that the tune is Shoemaker's, not ours.)
No. The twin-screw adds low-end torque that actually helps when the truck is working or loaded, and on the street wheel setup it drives like a truck day to day.
