Lethal Lowdown January 2026

2025 was a massive year for tuning. HP Tuners officially launched tuning support for the 2024+ Mustang, 2024+ F-150, and other popular Ford platforms, opening the door to make serious power on today's newest Ford platforms. We're also expanding our premier tuning lineup with ZFG Racing, bringing next-level support for the Explorer ST and other EcoBoost applications.

And we didn't just talk about performance, we put it to the test with plenty of track time behind the wheel of our Whipple Dark Horse. We raced it multiple times this year and showed what the S650 platform is capable of with the right go fast goodies, and the custom tune to match.

If you're a fan of boost like us, Whipple has been hard at work too, updating their supercharger offerings for most Ford vehicles through 2026, and launching their brand new 2021-2026 F-150 3.8L kit. Between new tuning support and new blower options, the future of these platforms has never looked better.

PRI in Indianapolis is always a great place to see what's new, and this year we came back with some big takeaways. One of the coolest finds from the show was Gulf Coast Driveshafts, and we're excited to now be carrying their lineup at Lethal Performance, including aluminum and carbon fiber driveshaft options for a ton of popular platforms like the Mustang, Explorer ST, and F-150.

On the McLeod side, we've been carrying their clutches for a long time, and customers continue to love them. At PRI we got a look at what's coming next from their team, including upcoming triple disc clutch kits and new multi-material disc options that are built for drivers pushing their cars harder than ever.

Kelltrac continues to expand their lineup with brand new lowering and leveling kits for F-150 owners looking to dial in stance and handling without sacrificing drivability. It's another solid move from a brand that's been making waves in the Ford performance world.

Kelly Aiken of KellTrac also took delivery of his Mustang GTD, and it's every bit as wild as you'd expect. Alongside that, the new 2026 Mustang Dark Horse SC was unveiled as a supercharged 5.2L V8 performance variant with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, MagneRide suspension, and serious track-focused hardware.

And it's not just Ford making headlines either. The 2026 Corvette ZR1X is already turning heads with an 8.675-second quarter mile at 159 mph thanks to its 1,250-horsepower hybrid powertrain. With a production-spec engine on pump gas and standard tires, it's a crazy benchmark for real-world performance.
