Thermal R&D Exhaust's 'True Helmholtz Technology'

The Chevy Camaro SS is powered by a 6.2 liter V8 engine that produces over 400 horsepower. Fortunately for us at Thermal R&D, Chevy left some wiggle room to improve on the sound, and that is exactly what we did. We developed a straight-through exhaust system that adds a more aggressive and dominant tone, symbolic of the American muscle car.

Thermal's 'True Helmholtz Technology' ,in this case in the form of external resonators, were added to the rear section of the system to attack the drone frequencies at cruising. This technology allows for a deeper, more aggressive tone during acceleration withoutrestricting exhaust flow, allowing for optimum sound and superior performance. This feature allowed us to create a one of a kind technical look with a branched resonator on each rear section.

The 4.5” slant cut tips add an ominous, upgraded look to the rear section, complimenting the improved sound quality and performance.
