AFCO GT500 Pro-Series Dual Pass Heat Exchanger
All new from AFCO is the Pro-Series Heat Exchanger for the Shelby GT500. If you didn't already know AFCO currently makes the best selling and best performing heat exchanger for the 2003-2004 Mustang Cobra. Well they're going to do just the same for the GT500 by offering the same technology and quality with their Pro-Series H/E.
When dealing with Roots or Twin Screw Superchargers there's always the issue of intake temps. When running the car hard and spinning the blower fast you create heat. Heat equals a loss in power as well as the possibility of damage to the engine. One way to help reduce these intake temps and the risk of damage is to add more fluid into the intercooler system which in turn helps lower intake temps by dissapating heat.
Whether it be on the street or at the track the warmer the car runs the more timing gets pulled. In addition to that an excessive amount of heat known as heat soak starts to take place. This keeps the car down on power and running less efficient. This again can be helped by adding more fluid into the cooling system. The temperature of the intercooler fluid will lower and cool down faster in between runs.

Here's some of the features of the AFCO Pro-Series Heat Exchanger for the Shelby GT500:
Cooler intake temperatures mean more power. It is just that simple. However, providing your engine with cool air to breathe becomes even more difficult when forced induction is involved.
Ford's potent supercharged V8 is no exception. This is why Ford designed a separate intercooling system for the supercharger on their popular F150 Lightning, Shelby GT500 and 03-04 Mustang Cobra.
The Ford system utilizes a heat exchanger mounted low in the front grill, which is very similar to a small radiator. Coolant flows separately from the main engine cooling system and circulates internally through the intercooler beneath the supercharger.
While the factory supercharger cooling system is adequate in stock configuration, it struggles to keep up with the multitude of popular modifications that not only deliver more power, but also increase the stress and strain on the engine.
To combat the power loss by excessive heat build up in the supercharger and intake system, AFCO focused on upgrading the weakest component in this cooling system: THE HEAT EXCHANGER.
AFCO Heat Exchangers are considerably larger than their stock counterparts. This provides a greater surface area and more capacity. AFCO Heat Exchangers reduce supercharger coolant temperatures by more than 40 degrees.
True Bolt-In Installation No Cutting No Drilling No Welding No Headaches
AFCO Heat Exchanger installation only requires simple hand tools and approximately 2-3 hours. All needed hardware (except replacement fluid) is included, along with detailed instructions.
Easy Bolt-In Installation
AFCO Heat Exchangers mount in factory locations with no drilling, cutting or fabrication of any kind “ a TRUE BOLT-IN.
Regains Lost Power
By more effectively cooling intake temperatures, AFCO Heat Exchangers keep the air entering the combustion chamber cooler and more dense, even in high-demand situations.
Allows for More Consistency
After hard acceleration, especially in drag racing applications, AFCO Heat Exchangers allow the supercharger to cool faster and remain at a constant temperature, which means power delivery is more consistent.
Optimized Design
Using years of experience, advanced design, and thorough testing, AFCO Heat Exchangers are designed to promote optimal air flow and cooling by utilizing appropriate fin count, tube size, core thickness, and fin serration for each particular application.
Quality Construction
Of course, as an AFCO product, quality is second to none. AFCO Heat Exchangers are TIG welded and feature furnace brazed cores with no epoxy. Each unit is pressure-tested before it is shipped.

Fluidyne S197 Mustang Heat Exchanger
Supercharger Coolant Cooler for use on all supercharged S197 Mustangs. Also used for GT500 models with addition of optional pump bracket kit part number FHP07GT500-KIT.
FLUIDYNE introduces a new larger direct-fit replacement low temperature radiator (LTR) for use on S197 Mustangs with aftermarket superchargers and 2007-2012 Shelby GT500's. An optional pump bracket kit is required for use on GT500 models, and allows the re-use of the stock Ford pump. The pump is not included with the bracket kit. The 3-row core configuration utilized to produce this LTR provides a significant decrease in water temperature with a corresponding increase in power.
In addition, the coolant capacity of 1.97 US Quarts is more than double the capacity of the stock unit. Once again, Fluidyne leads the way in performance cooling upgrades for America's most popular muscle Car.

Learn MoreWhether your Shelby is bone stock or highly modified, supercharged cars get heat soaked. Shelby has discovered the solution: The Shelby Dual Pass/Dual Puller Fan Heat Exchanger.
Designed by Shelby and C/R, our extreme duty heat exchanger uses a proprietary NASCAR core, which features a single row core with a dual pass system.
The intercooler and heat exchanger build higher temperatures in normal, spirited or on track driving conditions. With a stock Shelby or Mustang, the car has an on board computer program begins to curb spark and timing at 100 degrees. 100 degrees within the intercooler and heat exchanger can be achieved within minutes of starting the vehicle. After market tuners change this parameter to begin the timing and spark curb trend at 130 degrees to 140 degrees. Almost all supercharged vehicle owners can comprehend the power difference in their car when they first start it and drive versus 20 minutes later when the car just doesn’t seem to run as well or willing to "Spin the tires" This is what is called "Heat Soak."
Applications:
2007-2012 Shelby GT500
2005-2010 Shelby GT, Mustang GT (4.6L)
2011-2012 Shelby GT350, Mustang GT (5.0L)
History:
Changed from part number "Z12-CR-GT5-CPR002B" on 09 September 2011
Technical:
There are two puller fans each pulling 709 CFM. That 1,418 CFM of air flow across the core of the heat exchanger which pulls the heat out of the fluid in the intercooler and heat exchanger.
Engineered, designed and manufactured in the U.S.A.

AFCO 07-12 GT500 Pro-Series Dual Pass Heat Exchanger w/Dual 10" Spal Fans (Black Thermal Coat)
Lethal Performance is proud to announce the new AFCO Pro-Series Dual Pass Heat Exchanger with DUAL 10" Spal Fans.
As many know we were the ones to introduce the AFCO dual pass heat exchanger to the GT500 market. AFCO approached us several weeks ago letting us know that they've finally put together an upgraded unit with dual fans. They obviously know how important it is to keep up with the demand that our customers look for. As we've seen the dual fan heat exchanger has become a very popular unit. Continuous air across the fins of the heat exchanger help in lowering inlet air temps. This will also prevent you from losing power due to heat soak.
The addition of (2) 10" Spal fans along with a larger core means business. This will be the largest heat exchanger for the 07-12 GT500 to this date.
If anyone has seen an AFCO product you know it's of the highest quality. The cores, welds and design are used in many high performance applications for both street and track use.
Lethal Performance has locked up the entire first batch and we're giving all of our customers a first shot at purchasing them. We expect to have them available by the end of this month. If you're on our mailing list you'll receive an email about the new AFCO heat exchanger tomorrow. If not you can find more info about this piece on our website or by giving us a call.
