Single Disc Solutions (400 -650 HP)

For N/A or mildly modified 1996-1998 Cobras, a high-performance single disc clutch provides reliable holding power with excellent street manners. These kits are available for the factory 10-spline T-45 or upgraded 26-spline transmissions.

Street Pro (400 HP)

An ideal entry-level performance upgrade for the SN95 Cobra. Offers increased grip over stock with a very light and comfortable pedal feel. Rated for 400 HP.

Super Street Pro (500 HP)

Designed for Cobras with basic bolt-ons and mid-level torque, providing a more aggressive friction material for street and strip use. Rated for 500 HP.

Street Extreme (650 HP)

The highest level of single-disc holding power for the 96-98 Cobra. Perfect for high-performance driving without the jump to a twin-disc. Rated for 650 HP.

Twin Disc Solutions (800 - 2000+ HP)

Once you add forced induction to the 4.6L 4V, a McLeod twin-disc becomes the standard for reliability. These kits maximize surface area to eliminate slip while maintaining smooth engagement.

McLeod RST (800 HP)

The perfect street-oriented twin-disc for boosted SN95 Cobras. Organic discs provide ultra-smooth engagement and a pedal feel lighter than factory.

McLeod RXT (1000 HP)

The industry favorite for high-output Cobra builds. Features ceramic friction material for superior heat resistance during track use.

McLeod RXT HD (1300 HP)

Designed for extreme high-torque builds, the RXT HD uses a high-clamp pressure plate to support 1300 HP competition applications.

McLeod SFT 2000 (2000 HP)

The ultimate drivetrain solution for built motors and radical power adders, rated for a staggering 2000 HP at the crank.

Power Packs

Comprehensive kits that bundle your twin-disc clutch with a matched 8-bolt billet steel or aluminum flywheel for a perfect installation.

Tech Tip: T-45 Spline Counts

The 1996-1998 Cobra uses a 10-spline input shaft from the factory. If you have upgraded to a heavy-duty 26-spline input shaft, make sure you select the 26-spline specific kit for your install.

Frequently Asked Questions

What flywheel is required for my 1996-1998 Cobra?

All 1996-1998 SVT Cobras require an 8-bolt Neutral Balance flywheel. Our McLeod Power Packs include the correct 8-bolt flywheel for a seamless fit.

Is the RST or RXT better for my street Cobra?

For primarily street driving, the RST (800 HP) is best as organic discs provide smoother engagement. For track use or high-heat environments, the ceramic RXT (1000 HP) is recommended.

Can I use a 26-spline clutch with a stock T-45?

No. You must upgrade your input shaft to a 26-spline unit to use any 26-spline clutch kit. Stock T-45 transmissions require 10-spline clutch kits.
