All new from Lethal Performance is our Budget Plus Return Style Fuel system. We've had such great success over the years with our budget return system that we decided to make a new variation of it for those looking to support more power but not break the bank as far as costs go.
The new Budget Plus System uses the DivisionX Gen 3 fuel hat that can house up to 2 Walbro or Aeromotive fuel pumps. Where it varies from the standard budget system is that instead of using the factory feed line and filter this system uses a -10an PTFE feed line along with a DivisionX high flow fuel filter. The feed line then goes to an Aeromotive Pro-Series fuel pressure regulator deadheads the factory fuel rails using an OEM adapter. Fuel is then returned to the tank by a -8an PTFE hose.
This system also uses the famous Lethal Performance plug and play dual return style wiring harness making it a very simple install.
Another great feature of this system is that it's also based off of our complete return style system making it super easy to upgrade with only two different hoses and a set of the DivisionX fuel rails.
Budget return fuel systems are intended to be used with STOCK fuel rails. Does not work with aftermarket fuel rails.
NOTE: This system comes standard with Fragola pre-assembled PTFE fuel hose. PTFE fuel hose is more durable than the standard pushlite hose and prevents fuel smell typically found when using non PTFE hose.
How's it work? It starts with a DivisionX billet fuel hat that houses (2) return style fuel pumps. The fuel hat installs in your stock fuel tank. Then we use a 10an feed line and fuel filter that feed the Aeromotive pro-series fuel pressure regulator. Included is a 100psi liquid filled mechanical fuel pressure gauge, vacuum hose and t-fitting. From the regulator we provide a PTFE lined -8an feed line which adapts to the sock fuel rails. Fuel is then returned to the tank by a -8an PTFE return line. The last piece of the kit is our famous Lethal Performance Plug and Play dual return style harness which features (2) 40amp relays, (2) 20amp fuses, Fusible links for the power distribution box connection and our OEM 6 pin connector which plugs directly onto the 6 pin connector on the fuel hat making installation a breeze!
If you're unfamiliar with a return style kit here's how it works.
The fuel pumps are wired to run full time. Fuel pressure is set by the mechanical fuel pressure regulator. The excess fuel bleeds off the regulator through the return line and back to the tank. In this system we use a boost reference regulator. That means that for every 1psi of boost the regulator see's it's going to mechanically raise fuel pressure by 1psi. So if you start with a base pressure of 40psi and make 20psi of boost you'll end up seeing 60psi of fuel pressure when in full boost. What's great about a return style fuel system is that it's easy to tune, doesn't use any returnless style electronics and works great for both street and track applications. We run return style systems on all of the Lethal Performance project cars over the years with great success.
