Then there is \"Rolled splines\" that is essentially forging the tooth of the spline by forcing them between Rolling Rack's preforming a forging type affect that compresses the micro structure making it the strongest spline available today (don't take our word for it, Google Rolled splines VS cut splines) \u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eInner CV:\u003c\/strong\u003e Similar to the outer CV design but with the change of it being a plunging (moving in and out) joint, i know most like the \"look\" of the 6 bolt CV but there very limited by travel (most only moving about 25mm--1\") and will have strength issues when at the extremes either compressed or extended. so with different ride heights and camber settings the \"new\" single housing with its much longer travel housing will be allot more forgiving as far as race prep on the suspension. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eBolts:\u003c\/strong\u003e We have gone back and forth on this for some time and feel making an axle with no bolts like the \"Factory\" design was needed, some like to be able to un-bolt the parts but inevitably bots come loose and cause issues of there own so we decided to change the housing to a single no bolt design on both inner and outer CV's. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eGrease:\u003c\/strong\u003e Over the years DSS has tried, tested and know more about different grease's than most in the industry. We are always questioning and trying to understand what works best. What good is horsepower if you can't put it to the ground?\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nJared took a trip over to BMR Suspension in Seffner, FL with our 2018 Mustang GT (aka Project Goldmember) to get the “Kelly Aiken” treatment. While there, we were able to pick Kelly's brain on the IRS and it's components. He has a surplus on knowledge on these cars from not only his own car (even planting GoPros underneath to monitor the suspension's activity) but also from the vast amount of fast cars using BMR Suspension, including 2 of the fastest IRS cars in the country.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nBased on his experience, we asked him to pick out what he felt were the most beneficial components for these cars, the \u003cstrong\u003e“Bread \u0026amp; Butter”\u003c\/strong\u003e as he calls it in the video. The following components will support cars going well into the 8s and those wanting to see low 1.2-1.4 60's (If you're faster than that, they have components for that, too!)\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nIn an IRS car there are a couple of issues to address. The first issue is that the entire cradle assembly will move\/rock. In our 2018 A10 car, Kelly was able to point out just how much movement there is in a factory setup. The factory cradle bushing has a small lip on the top which is a limiter. On our car, when we launched it at the track, this limiter was hitting the chassis, leaving a witness mark on the body from the cradle moving\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eCB005 – Cradle Bushing Lockout Kit\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\nDesigned to eliminate cradle bushing deflection \u0026amp; wheelhop\u003cbr\u003e\n80%-90% reduction in fore\/aft and lateral cradle bushing deflection\u003cbr\u003e\nComes with spacer rings to lock out the top of the cradle bushing so that it doesn't deflect at WOT\u003cbr\u003e\nComes with lower bushing mounts to eliminate lower bushing movement, keeping it from dipping down \u0026amp; causing the pinion to rise\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eBK081 – Spherical Lower Control Arm Bearing\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\nDesigned to eliminate cradle deflection \u0026amp; wheelhop\u003cbr\u003e\n“One of the most important \u0026amp; overlooked components” -Kelly Aiken\u003cbr\u003e\nFactory bushings are molded from soft rubber \u0026amp; contain voids\/air pockets, causing movement of the lower control arm during aggressive launching\/driving. The solid spherical setup eliminates these voids, therefore eliminating the control arm movement.\u003cbr\u003e\nAlso keeps the wheels from moving forward due to bushing deflection at WOT\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eBK051 – Differential Bushing Lockout Kit\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\nDesigned to eliminate the voids in the stock differential bushing setup\u003cbr\u003e\nLocks the differential movement so that breakage of driveline components is avoided\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nIf you're going to do the differential bushings, we HIGHLY suggest upgrading the hardware while you're in there. Not only are the bolts themselves stronger than the OEM pieces, but the kit also plays an integral role in limiting differential movement. In the rear bushing, the stock bolt has a ton of play in it as it is a smaller diameter than it's location. This causes the diff to be able to move, as shown by the bolt being off center in our car, which in turn changes pinion angle, causing vibration \u0026amp; driveline parts carnage (like us breaking our driver's side axle on Project Goldmember). This play in the bolt also leads to the bushing \u0026amp; cradle actually slicing\/cutting the bolt when the car is loaded up \u0026amp; launched. No bueno! Then there is the front bushing setup, which is a threaded design from factory. Because the bushing sheer strength is relying on the threaded part of the bolt, it is much weaker than if it were to rely on the shank (or solid) part of the bolt.
