We have designed this fastback exhaust system to bring out the deep muscle car tone that is begging to come out of your 5.0L powerhouse. Our exclusive axle-back exhaust design improves exhaust flow and is the perfect combination of sound and tone without introducing any unwanted drone since we've incorporated Steeda's proprietary baffle design.
This Steeda S550 Mustang Fastback GT Axle-Back Exhaust System is constructed from 409-stainless steel known for being corrosion-resistant. The tips of our Steeda axle-back exhaust system for your 2015-2016 S550 are constructed from polished 304-stainless steel and feature a laser-etched Steeda logo. The piping size of this axle-back system for your Mustang GT is 3" all the way up to the chambered mufflers; the tip size steps up to a nice big 4" that fills in the factory rear valance perfectly.
The installation of this Steeda S550 Mustang Fastback GT Axle-Back Exhaust System will require some fabrication, just like any other S550 axle-back exhaust system. In order to install this axle-back kit, you will need to cut and remove the factory assembly. Once removed, our Steeda S550 axle-back system can be clamped on.

Although we love the new 2015 Mustang GT and pretty much everything about it the tone of the stock exhaust in our opinion is kind is lacking quite a bit. So just as we've done in the past with the older model mustangs we got right to it and developed an exhaust upgrade kit that makes this new S550 sound like it should.
One of the hurdles we were faced with on the new S550 GT is that you can't simple remove the cats and run an off-road pipe. That's because Ford designed the stock exhaust system on the 2015 with the drivers side cat built into the manifold. Being that the cat is welded onto the drivers side manifold there's no way to easily remove the cats.
That being said there's still a few other things with the stock exhaust we felt needed to be addressed in order to increase the sound of the car without much hassle. One of those is the extra large resonator located between the cats and the mufflers. Not only is the resonator large and heavy it also dampens the sound of the exhaust quite a bit.
