Great clutch, worth the money
08 GT500 at 15psi, stock clutch let loose at around 12k miles. I've installed plenty of clutches in Mustangs over the years but paid somebody to put this one in. The flywheel is quite nice and the kit looked as impressive as any I've seen. Mechanic says it went in like a dream and she drives great. Pedal feel is half or less than the stock clutch, that took some getting used to but I took it easy for 500 miles as recommended and learned to drive it pretty quickly. I've installed stickier tires and 10 more psi since then and she's solid. I've never spent this much on a clutch before but so far I'd say it's worth it. Buy a new slave cylinder when you replace the clutch, no matter how many miles it has on it. Review by SuperG7one3 / (Posted on 3/27/2015)
Amazing Clutch
I finally decided on this McLeod Twin disc clutch for my 2009 GT500 after the stock clutch gave out at 40,000 miles. I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews in forums. The only thing I was worried about was the amount of leg press I would have to do to depress the clutch pedal on this new McLeod which is rated for 1,000 HP. After the clutch was replaced and everything put back together, I cranked her up and depressed the clutch pedal. The amount of effort to depress the clutch on the McLeod is a fraction of what the factory clutch is. My guess is for the factory; 15 pounds and for the McLeod; 3 pounds. This clutch is amazing. The only downside (if you could pick something) is the break-in period of 1200 clutch cycles or 500 miles city-type driving. I highly recommend this clutch. Review by Russ / (Posted on 3/31/2014)
