Shelby 05-10 Mustang GT/Shelby GT Performance Radiator
The Shelby Performance radiator employs the same NASCAR proprietary core that they currently use on the GT500. In testing at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway interior road course versus other brands that were tested it outperformed by better than double. What we mean by that is that in the SAI test vehicle could take the other brand radiators to 250 degrees plus in 5 to 6 laps and the car would fall on its face. Mind you this is a Whipple blown GT and the interior road course at LVMS is short and brutal but an excellent testing ground. This was also done in Vegas desert heat. It was over 140 degrees inside the car. With the new Shelby Radiator for the 4.6L they were able to reach 250 degrees in 13 to 14 laps.
Additionally the other brands required 5 or more laps to recover to a temperature where the timing had returned and we could get back on it. The Shelby radiator recovered much faster requiring only 2 laps.
This testing was done by Van Collier of Revan Racing and SAI’s lead testing and development driver.
The GT radiator does NOT work with Paxton / Vortech supercharged cars with out modifying and cutting the front bumper support.
